Tropical update
Next 7 days: low chance of formation

This low-pressure area is bringing lots of cloudiness and showers over the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and the southern Bahamas. It is set to continue moving north over the southwestern Atlantic, moving away from land. More good news is that this system will enter an area not favorable to develop as wind shear is set to increase. There is only a brief moment when this system could become a tropical or sub-tropical storm, during the next 7 days, south of Bermuda.

Luckily this system, formed or not, will stay away from the Americas and is not expected to affect land. It is a good reminder that you should be looking and revising your hurricane plans and making sure you have all documents and policies in order, and you know what to do if a hurricane or storm were threatening your location.

We will be monitoring the tropical closely throughout the season and bring you prompt updates. You can look for the season’s tropical update inside the breakfast briefing every morning and a separate article when a storm forms and threatens land. Our team of meteorologists is ready for the season, are you?
