The first week of July will remain mostly quiet across the tropical Atlantic.

An increase in wind shear, Saharan Dust, and a negative phase of the Madden-Julian Oscillation are all at play this week across the Atlantic, which is reducing the chances of tropical storm formation.

Conditions for mid-July, or the second week of July, are bound to start transitioning to a more favorable setup. We will continue to monitor closely and bring you updates. For now, there is no need to worry about the tropics this week.
