Tropical update
Quiet Atlantic Basin this week

No development expected this week

This tropical update will be short for two reasons: lack of tropical activity and severe weather happening across parts of the U.S.

First, there is no chance for tropical development over the Atlantic Basin during the next 7 days as there are lots of dry and dusty air. Second, we are closely monitoring the development of a multi-day severe weather outbreak over parts of eastern Colorado and the Great Plains.

We have a task force We have a task force in effect to bring you the latest information about what's happening later on Thursday.
