Tropical update
Quiet for now, what to watch later

Tropics are quiet, but we should monitor fronts as they could leave enough energy to spin a tropical system.

The tropics remain quiet this week with no tropical activity expected through Friday.

During this time of the year, tropical storm formation becomes more likely closer to home as cold fronts push through and some could leave enough energy behind to develop into tropical systems.

As we have the first strong cold front of the season this front will sweep clear the southeastern United States and bring very cold temperatures in some cases between 15 to 25 degrees below average.

We must monitor this front as it exits the United States as a low-pressure system could develop near the Bahamas by the end of the weekend. We must watch to see if it develops into a tropical system, but there will likely be a low pressure forming east of Florida by next Monday.
