Video: inside an EF-3 tornado

Footage from a trail camera shows the violent winds produced by a tornado that moved through Montgomery County, Texas, over the weekend.

A rare December tornado outbreak brought at least 58 reported tornadoes stretching from Texas to Alabama over the weekend. Our WeatherRadar archive shows a powerful storm that produced an EF-3 tornado that tracked from Porter Heights to Splendora, Texas.

The video comes from trail camera footage and shows the violent winds. The maximum estimated winds for the Porter Heights-Splendora tornado were 140 mph. The tornado was on the ground for more than 10 miles and was nearly a mile wide.
