There's another chance to see the Northern Lights across northern portions of the U.S. again Tuesday night.

The Northern Lights may be seen as far south as Iowa to Oregon tonight through Thursday after the sun sent out a series of coronal mass ejections (or CMEs) over the last few days.

This week’s lights are the result of a space phenomenon called a “Cannibal CME,” which happens when an initial CME is overtaken by a second, much faster CME, which can cause strong displays of the Northern Lights.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) has issued a geomagnetic storm watch from Tuesday to Thursday, meaning auroras may be visible across the northern tier of the U.S. and possibly even further south. Check out the WeatherRadar to see if conditions are favorable for viewing in your area.
