Tuesday saw numerous damaging wind reports across several Northeast states caused by an upper-level low-pressure system that triggered strong storms. As we move into Wednesday, expect another active weather day with weaker storms, especially along the front, passing through the region in the afternoon and evening.

On Wednesday, Temperatures will remain mostly above average for these areas, but the frontal passage will bring a welcome shot of cool, dry air, making conditions normal to slightly cooler than usual for this time of year.

On Tuesday, the cold air behind the front was noticeable across the central Plains and the Mid-Mississippi Valley, where storms and cloud cover, combined with the cooler air, made the afternoon feel up to 30 degrees cooler than Monday.
