Large hail, tornadoes
Severe risk in southern Rockies

Weekend severe risks brings hail chances.
Weekend severe risks bring hail chances.

The risk of severe thunderstorms continues, especially across western Texas and much of New Mexico.

This entire week has been marked by storms affecting the southwestern United States. Severe thunderstorms have produced golf ball-sized hail, damaging winds and even a confirmed tornado in Arizona.

The unstable weather pattern is shifting eastward, and over the weekend, the risk of severe thunderstorms will be concentrated around cities such as El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, N.M. Meanwhile, Albuquerque could also experience some severe thunderstorms on both days, though they are expected to be more isolated.
