    Wildfire smoke on the WeatherRadar

Air quality concerns
Wildfire smoke on the WeatherRadar

When you look at the Northwest on the WeatherRadar, it's not clouds you are seeing; it's actually smoke from dozens of raging wildfires.

Multiple wildfires are burning across the Northwest, including three destructive fires near Spokane, Wash., that have burned thousands of acres. Smoke from these wildfires is leading to hazardous air quality across the Northwest and beyond.

The WeatherRadar will come in handy for tracking the smoke today, as will the WindRadar. Changing winds will push the smoke westward, leading to degraded air quality in places such as Bend, Eugene, Portland and Salem, Ore. Seattle may also experience poor air quality this week.

Check the air quality feature before heading out.

With unhealthy air quality for all groups possible this week, checking our air quality feature before heading out is essential.
