Soggy East
Low pressure brings wet weekend

A large low-pressure system will bring active weather to the East this weekend, prompting strong storms and flooding concerns for many. Those with last-minute activities planned before school starts will want to pay close attention.

This weekend, the WeatherRadar will be dominated by a large low-pressure system swirling over the Midwest. This low-pressure system, combined with ample moisture, will create soggy weather for the eastern half of the country.

Our low-pressure system clearly shows up on both the WeatherRadar and WindRadar by Saturday. With ample moisture in place east of the Mississippi River, numerous showers and storms are expected. This trend continues as our low pushes east on Sunday.

The low pressure can be seen on both the WeatherRadar and WindRadar.

Weekend plans may be impacted due to rain in cities like Nashville, Tenn., Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Rochester, N.Y.

Areas of flash flooding and strong storms will also be a concern. Keep an eye to the sky and make sure your Weather & Radar app alerts are on.
