Autumn, is that you?
Big changes for Labor Day weekend

Cold front heads east.

Big changes are sweeping from the Midwest to the Northeast over the Labor Day weekend, bringing big temperature drops and autumn feel too.

A cold front is moving across the Plains today, touching off some rain showers and a few afternoon thunderstorms across the Midwest and Great Lakes. As the front moves eastward this weekend, track possible thunderstorms along the I-95 corridor late Saturday into Sunday on WeatherRadar.

The big news will be what accompanies the front. The TemperatureRadar shows a burst of cool air trickle out of Canada, making it feel like autumn by Labor Day for Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Washington, Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston. Highs will only be in the 70s with lower humidity.

In addition to the mild daytime temperatures, a clear sky and longer nights —as seen on the sunset and sunrise information here—will send overnight lows into the 50s and 60s, with interior New England and the rural Midwest falling into the 40s Monday night. It will be great sweater weather to hang out by a campfire and open the windows to let the fresh air in.

Be sure to check the WeatherRadar and the hourly forecast during the Labor Day weekend to track the big changes.
