Fall feels
Blast of cool air for the Northeast

Signs of fall are being spotted across our northern tier, including fall foliage peeking through in the Midwest. To start the week, winter-like weather behind a cold front will extend from the Upper Midwest to the Northeast.

Stunning fall foliage in northern Wisconsin is a visual sign of the changing seasons, and a cold front has brought fall temperatures to go along with the fall colors across the Midwest. The TemperatureRadar shows highs 5-15 degrees cooler than average from the Midwest into the Northeast. Cities like Chicago, Cincinnati and Philadelphia will be in the 50s and 60s.

This cooler air is only part of the story, rain and mountain snow are showing up on the WeatherRadar today and tomorrow downwind of the Great Lakes and into the Northeast as the front moves offshore. It will be a chilly and soggy day in Cleveland, Buffalo, N.Y., and Bangor, Maine.

Tomorrow, the rain and blustery conditions extend further south into the Mid-Altantic. A few bursts of snow are even possible down into the southern Appalachians, but won't amount to much. However, those who live in Washington, D.C., will want to pack their rain gear. Keep an eye on the WeatherRadar and remember to dress warmly.
