Breakfast brief
Bookend storms for Thursday

Two storm systems bookend the East and West coasts this Thursday while much of the central U.S. enjoys mostly quiet skies.

Did you know?

Between March 28 and March 31, 1935, a large dust storm swept across Amarillo, Texas, and at one point had visibility at 0 for six hours.

Today's weather outlook

Remember the two storm systems that impacted the West and East coasts on Wednesday? They're still around and keeping many locked in umbrella weather. Some movement does finally happen on the East Coast when the stubborn front shifts east in the very late night hours on Thursday and early Friday morning.

Although the intensity of the rain and snow showers will lower throughout the day on Thursday, West Coast residents will still need umbrellas and to pay attention to mountain passes, due to snow, if traveling.

The wet and snowy weather also reaches into the northern Rockies and Great Basin from this same storm.

Heavy rain and mountain snow continue on Thursday, keeping western residents locked in umbrella weather.Heavy rain and mountain snow continue on Thursday, keeping western residents locked in umbrella weather.

Some SoCal residents in Los Angeles could see a passing shower but anyone south of the city through the border will only get the cloudy impacts from this storm.
