Severe storm threat continues

As our strong low pressure and front system moves east today, severe weather will be possible for parts of the Great Lakes down into the Ohio Valley.

Coldest April temperature on record

The temperature at Eagles Nest, NM, plunged to 45 degrees below zero to establish an April record for the United States.

Today's weather outlook

Storms are expected to continue across the Great Lakes into the Ohio Valley this morning, with another round of development expected this afternoon. Damaging winds, tornadoes, and large hail are all possible. Storms will continue tonight as this system pushes toward the Mid-Atlantic.

The WeatherRadar also shows some wintry weather today. An upper-level trough will bring snow showers to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. Up to a foot of snow will be possible in some of Wyoming's higher elevations.
