Relatively quiet conditions remain in place across much of the U.S. today. However, a few showers and storms will be possible stretching from the southern Plains to the Midwest and Northeast later today and into tonight.

By tonight, rain showers are expected to move into the Northeast. Severe storms are unlikely; however, a few strong storms may develop in north-central Texas and Michigan.
