Breakfast brief
Spring storm brings flood threat to East

The spring storm system that brought two days worth of dangerous severe weather is moving slowly east. More flooding and even winter storm conditions are expected Wednesday. In the West, a new storm approaches the northwest coast.

Today's weather outlook

The same storm system that brought numerous tornado, damaging winds, and hail reports is still going strong today. However, we're not expected another dangerous storm outbreak. Isolated to scattered severe storms as well as flooding rains are the main focus. Up to 4 inches of rain, on top of what has fallen in the last few days, are expected.

Additionally, the back end of the storm continues to siphon cold, northwestern flow allowing heavy, wet snow to contiue across the Midwest, with the wintry weather beginning across the Northeast early this morning.

In the Pacific Northwest, a new storm system will arrive today bringing rain and mountains snow. This storm will evolve throughout the week so keep your eyes to the sky across the West.
