BioLab fire
Check the air quality Atlanta

The smell of chlorine in the air and unhealthy air quality still linger across north Georgia after a fire broke out on Sunday at the chemical BioLab in Conyers, Ga.

A fire at BioLab, which makes pool and spa treatments, produced a chemical cloud on Sunday. Water from a sprinkler system reacted with chemicals on site, causing evacuations near the plant. In the Atlanta metro yesterday, dense fog and a chlorine smell frightened some residents.

The WindRadar shows winds under 15 mph, meaning this smoke will linger across north Georgia. Residents of Rockdale County have been told to put shelter in place on Tuesday morning. This smoke plume also affects air quality across north Georgia, including the highly populated Atlanta metro.
