Florida's temperature swings to continue

warm cold

Much of Florida is experiencing cooler temperatures and finally, the sunshine is bright across much of the state. Although there are no freezing temperatures in the forecast, lows and highs will be slightly below average. All this in good Florida fashion... for two days! North Florida will experience cold temperatures between the mid to upper 30s by Friday morning.

Central Florida will wake up to temperatures around the low 40s, while south Florida will drop to around the mid to upper 50s.

Overall temperatures will remain around normal, or slightly below average on Friday afternoon with a 10-degree difference between north and south Florida. North Florida will be in the mid-60s, while South Florida will be between the mid to upper 70s.

The temperatures will increase just in time for the weekend. The warmup will be in response to the winds shifting from the southwest, ahead of the next cold front. The showers will increase on Saturday across north and central Florida on Saturday as the front pushes through. By Sunday, the front will be crossing over south Florida, increasing the rain chances.

This cold front will bring a much cooler drop in temperatures by Monday across the Sunshine State.

Although by Sunday, the sun will clear across the northern half of the state, the cold air will settle the most by Monday morning, where temperatures are forecast to drop to the low 40s across central Florida cities like Orlando.

Miami will wake up to temperatures in the mid-50s for Valentine's Day. The week will progress with a gradual increase in temperatures with the chance of showers and thunderstorms returning by the middle of the week for South Florida as the high-pressure system moves east and the winds shift, once again, this time coming in from the Atlantic.

For north and central Florida, the next cold front inches closer by the end of next week.
