Large waves on Lake Michigan

On Thursday, large waves and strong winds hit the Lake Michigan shoreline near Chicago. The video above shows waves spilling water onto a waterfront path at the Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary in Chicago.

The WindRadar showed blustery conditions across the Great Lakes on Thursday, with those gusty winds creating large waves over Lake Michigan.

High wind gusts have been creating issues across the Plains and Florida this week, with blizzard conditions in Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa on Wednesday. Wind-driven brush fires in Florida even cut off the main road to the Florida Keys earlier this week.
