Severe weather is back in the forecast today for the Northeast and southern Plains, but especially for Texas where an enhanced risk has been issued. We're streaming a live storm chase within the tornado watch area in eastern Texas.

An enhanced risk—a level 3 out of 5 on the severity scale—has been issued in the southern Plains for strong storms capable of producing large, long-track tornadoes. However, isolated to scattered severe storm chances stretch into Oklahoma, far eastern New Mexico, and down to New Orleans, La., and Mobile, Ala.

The WeatherRadar has been showing severe storms packed with lightning and heavy rain impacting much of eastern Texas, especially along I-35 and east, where the tornado watch is issued. Have at least three ways to receive weather warnings, and have your app alerts switched on.

Severe storms also target the Northeast on Tuesday, especially from Baltimore, Md., to Watertown, N.Y. We could see damaging winds of at least 57 mph with higher gusts locally in these storms today.

Not to be outdone, isolated flash flooding is also possible in these storms. Remember, turn around, don't drown.
