Texas shook on Friday afternoon after a magnitude 4.8 quake hit near Midland, Texas.

The United States Geological Survey, USGS, is an entity that monitors and reports on earthquakes, assesses earthquake impacts and hazards, and conducts targeted research on the causes and effects of earthquakes. The quake happened shortly after 1:33 p.m. CT and was just over 4 miles deep. There are no reports of injuries, but several residents reported feeling it. We will continue to monitor.
