M6.2 quake in eastern Caribbean

Magnitude 6.2 quake near Guadeloupe Island in the eastern Caribbean.

You might hear that a magnitude 6.2 quake hit the eastern Caribbean this morning, luckily it was so deep that it was not felt as such a high magnitude.

The quake occurred at 7:23 a.m. local time near the small eastern Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. It happened around 103 deep. With it happening so deep the magnitude lessens. According to seismic experts, the shake was felt in Puerto Rico and British Islands at a magnitude 4.

No damages or injuries have been reported. USGS report states that this quake could bring aftershocks, of higher or lesser magnitudes for about 3 weeks.
