Some drought relief
Multi-day flood threat

Several days of showers and storms across the southern Plains, the mid and lower Mississippi Valleys, Mid-South and Gulf Coast could lead to flooding and some drought relief.

Flooding will be a concern this week as the WeatherRadar shows numerous showers and storms working their way across portions of the southern Plains, the mid and lower Mississippi Valleys, the Mid-South and the Gulf Coast.

Today's flood threat extends from Texas to Georgia and includes cities such as Dallas, Shreveport, La., Little Rock, Ark., Memphis, Tenn., Jackson, Miss., and Birmingham, Ala. Up to 3 inches of rain will be possible through tomorrow morning.

The rest of the week will bring showers and storms, along with a renewed flood threat to many of the same areas. The silver lining is that this rain may bring some drought relief to hard-hit areas of Texas and the South.
