New Orleans' super fog
Accidents along I-10, one dead

After a little more than 2 weeks since the last episode of “super fog” near New Orleans, several accidents were reported on Tuesday morning due to another event – one person was killed.

Dense fog advisories dominated much of New Orleans and surrounding areas before dawn Tuesday, with reduced visibility to less than ¼ mile. This fog mixed with smoke caused by marsh fires near Bayou Sauvage.

The accident was reported on eastbound I-10, near Michoud, La. The interstate in this section had to be closed for several hours, in both directions, due to the accidents.

Fog is starting to lift as the Sun rises, but smoky areas could still reduce visibility along some sections of local highways.
