A classic Pacific storm is moving into the Northwest, bringing the kitchen sink of trouble. What exactly does that mean? Let's find out.

First off, this autumn system will be tapping a long fetch of the Pacific and it will be able to produce heavy rain through Thursday from northern California into Washington. More than 3 to 5 inches of rain possible through Thursday. This will make for a soggy couple of days.

High winds will arrive ahead of the downpours and continue as the soaking rain arrives. The WindRadar shows wind gusts as high as 35 mph in Seattle and Portland, Ore., with even higher amounts reaching 50 mph possible. This could cause localized power outages and blow around loose objects.
