A low-pressure system off the Long Island Coast has brought in a cooler air mass, allowing high temperatures to drop up to 15 degrees for New Englanders. The same low brought severe storms that produced a rare tornado to a city with only one recorded tornado in the past.

A tornado touched down in Dover, Del., on Thursday evening as a severe storm line ripped across the DelMarVa eastern shore. Delaware has only recorded 81 tornadoes, with Dover only seeing one on record before yesterday's action.
