Powerful winds clocked in Texas

On Tuesday, powerful winds made for a challenging weather balloon launch in Fort Worth, Texas. Gusty winds and strong storms move toward the East Coast on Wednesday.

Powerful winds made their way through Texas on Tuesday, making launching a weather balloon in Fort Worth difficult. In Dallas, a wind gust of 74 mph was measured at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

The high winds also sent dust into the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Eerie images show the apocalyptic view of the red dust moving across the region.
