Rain and wind move inland

Power outages continue across the Southeast. Currently, Louisiana is leading in terms of homes and businesses without power.

Hurricane Francine caused widespread flooding in Metairie, La., and other areas in the New Orleans metro.

On Wednesday, 26 residents of Thibodaux, La., were rescued from rising waters. Many of the rescues occurred at housing units on Lasseigne Road.

Power outages are impacting nearly 375,000 homes and businesses in Louisiana, more than 50,000 in Mississippi and more than 15,000 in Alabama.

Francine is currently a tropical depression with winds sustained at 35 mph. As it continues to move inland, damaging winds, flooding and tornadoes are concerns across much of the South.
