A big heat wave is unfolding across the Southwest today, expanding across the rest of the interior West and even into Texas this week. Daily record highs could be broken.

High pressure is building over the interior West. This will bring bountiful sunshine and hot days while slowing the drop in temperatures overnight. The end result will be daily maximum temperatures increasing throughout the week.

The TemperatureRadar shows today's highs will be in the triple digits across the Southwest and interior southern California. The triple-digit highs will expand into more of interior California, including the Central Valley, on Monday and Tuesday. Western Texas will also be hot with highs approaching 100 degrees on Tuesday.
