Gusty storm brings down Christmas display

A deadly storm event brought down a Christmas display near Rio de Janeiro on Monday, December 16, 2024.

Although the storm, 22 miles from Rio de Janeiro, was warned and the display builders were evacuating, the gusty winds kicked up quickly, toppling the 184-foot-tall Christmas tree. Unfortunately, one person died when the tree fell and two others were injured.
