Rockies activity
June snow to cool you down

WeatherRadar: Snow in the forecast for parts of the northern Rockies.
WeatherRadar: Snow in the forecast for parts of the northern Rockies.

Many are dealing with building heat and humidity across the eastern half, but some places still have snow in the forecast.

Mountain snow can really happen at any time of the year, as long as the temperatures are cool enough. We're seeing that in the higher altitudes of the northern Rockies in Idaho, through Montana and Wyoming, like in Yellowstone National Park.

The WeatherRadar shows a storm system bringing lower-elevation rain and storms, as well as mountain snow. Yellowstone, in particular, is no stranger to June snow, especially above 7,000 feet.

The current storm is being helped along by a low-pressure trough in the western U.S., while the eastern heat is supported by a high-pressure ridge.

Track the snow at any time of the year easily on the WeatherRadar where the whole weather picture is available, from rain to sunshine to lightning to ice.
