Severe threat ramps up for Easter Sunday

Another round of severe storms is forecast for Easter Sunday. Tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail are possible. Severe weather impacted Texas and Oklahoma yesterday, with damage from a possible tornado in Ada, Okla.

Severe storms impacted the Plains yesterday, with more than a dozen tornadoes reported across Texas and Oklahoma. A shopping center in Ada, Okla., sustained significant damage. The WeatherRadar shows more severe weather today.

Strong storms are expected this afternoon and evening from east Texas to Illinois, with all modes of severe weather possible. Cities like Shreveport, La., Little Rock, Ark., Tulsa, Okla., Kansas City, Springfield, Mo., and St. Louis should be alert today.

Damaging winds and hail are possible, and a few strong tornadoes (EF-2+) may also be in the mix. The area at greatest risk for strong tornadoes extends from northern Arkansas into southern Missouri. Keep an eye on the WeatherRadar and make sure your app alerts are on.
