While you may not think of snow in August, it can happen. The video above shows snow falling in Lake Tahoe over the weekend. Early-season snow is expected in Montana today.

Early-season snow fell in the higher elevations of the Sierra over the weekend, with snowflakes spotted in Lake Tahoe, Calif., on Saturday. Today, snow is expected in the higher elevations of northwestern Montana.

The WeatherRadar shows the first snow of the season falling in the higher elevations of northwestern Montana today as a strong cold front marches across the northern Rockies. The TemperatureRadar shows this steep drop-off in temperatures behind the front making it cold enough to snow.
