    Big summer storms threatened

27+M threatened
Big summer storms for Mi-Atlantic

Big trouble is brewing across the high populated Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic and the I-95 corridor later today and tonight. Dangerous storms could bring damaging winds and downpours.

It has been a busy morning across the Ohio Valley as storms propagate eastward and gradually weaken. These dying storms will ride eastward along a weak front and become reenergized as they move along the northern edge of extremely hot and humid air baking the Mid-Atlantic and South.

Dangerous storms producing damaging winds will be the biggest concern for Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, Trenton, N.J., and New York City’s northern New Jersey suburbs. Power outages and tree damage are possible.

It has already been a busy week. Storms hit Minneapolis on Monday, forcing the Minnesota State Fair to close early that night while producing a fiery sunset.

Storms hitting Michigan on Tuesday knocked out power across the central part of the state and in the Detroit metro area. More than 300,000 customers are still without power Wednesday morning.

Track these storms using our WeatherRadar.
