The Pacific Hurricane season continues to be active, with storms lined up and another one could come close to Hawaii for a second weekend of impacts.

Last weekend Hurricane Hone passed south of Hawaii, but as you know, the right quadrant of the storm, with respect to direction, tends to be the most active side. In this case, the heaviest rainfall fell on Hawaii's big inland. Of course, Hawaii's upslope terrain also contributed to the exceptionally high rainfall, with close to 20 inches of rain recorded in some places.

Our WeatherRadar shows the conga line of storms in the northern Pacific. Image taken Wednesday at noon Eastern Time.

Gilma is the next storm that could be coming close to the Hawaii archipelago late this week. Any additional rains will cause flooding, especially along the eastern portion of the Big Island where the ground is well-saturated.

You can track the latest storms and their movement in our WeatherRadar. Another great tool for tropical systems is our WindRadar, it allows you to get the latest wind speeds and forecasted ones for the next 4 days in your area.
