Southeast, East soaks
Rainy, stormy midweek

The soggy and stormy weather across the South, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic just won't break with another batch of downpours and thunderstorms occurring today.

The WeatherRadar has rain and thunderstorms stretching from the Midwest eastward across the central Appalachians on Wednesday morning. This is just a preview of things to come this afternoon and evening.

Southeast rain and storms
Big storms threaten the Southeast and South.

Showers and thunderstorms will pop up throughout the South and Southeast, northward into the Ohio Valley, lower Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic later today into early Thursday. These will become widespread with downpours possibly causing localized flash flooding, especially across the saturated Ohio Valley and central Gulf Coast.

A few of the thunderstorms could become severe across northern Virginia into the southern Delmarva. Damaging winds will be the biggest danger from these storms.

The soggy pattern will finally break tomorrow and Friday across the Midwest, central Appalachians and the Mid-Atlantic. However, afternoon showers and thunderstorms remain a threat across the South and Southeast through at least the weekend.
