Flash flood risk, too
Texas stormy rounds continue

Texas is about to get another round of storms as a front and low-pressure system move through on Friday. Let this be your heads-up to stay aware and take the proper precautions to stay safe. Here's the timing and tools to have handy!

It's going to be a busy Friday and early Saturday as a period of heavy rains and storms will sweep through the state. This will be courtesy of a low-pressure system and a front that will bring the chance for some isolated severe storms during this time frame, as the storms will move from northwest to southeast. The WeatherRadar shows areas like Austin, San Antonio, and Waco will experience storms from around 3 p.m. through early evening. Severe storms are possible, with a chance of a couple of tornadoes.

Chance for flash floods across a big chunk of Texas between Friday and Saturday.

Most models show this line of storms intensifying as it moves toward the Texas Coast. From Corpus Christi through Houston and Galveston, storms will be most prolific between 7 p.m. Friday and 7 am. Monday. Make sure to keep your weather alerts on, as storms may develop with damaging winds and possibly a tornado or two.

It is essential to highlight that these storms will meander and spread over a large chunk of Texas for about 24 hours, potentially affecting areas that have been well-saturated from recent rains. There is the risk of flash floods from Piedras Negras, through San Antonio, the Metroplex and even Houston. The Hill Country through the I-35 corridor could see at least 2 inches of rain, while some areas could potentially receive over 3 inches of rain.
