Time to "spring forward"

Sunday marks the beginning of daylight saving time when most of us move our clocks forward by one hour.

Unless you live in parts of Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam or American Samoa, the clocks go forward an hour on March 8 at 2 a.m. as we officially move to the summer schedule, also known as the Daylight Saving Time (DST).

While we will lose an hour of sleep on Saturday night, we gain later sunsets starting on Sunday. Our astro function gives you all the information you need on sunrise and sunset.

We will also see a significant amount of daylight gained through the end of March. For example, New York and Chicago will gain more than 80 minutes of daylight from March 1 to March 31. Atlanta and Los Angeles gain around one hour of daylight through the end of the month, while Miami adds 40 minutes.
