Tornado risk remains high
Major Saturday severe threat unfolding

Severe thunderstorms producing more than a dozen tornadoes rolled across the Deep South and Missouri and central Mississippi valleys overnight and early this morning.

These tornadoes caused extensive damage with at least 3 people reportedly killed and more injuries. The video above from our weather reporter Jonathan Petramala shows the damage in Elliott, Miss.

Today's threats

The WeatherRadar shows this same storm system producing lines of storms Saturday morning. Additional severe storms capable of producing destructive tornadoes will develop throughout the afternoon and evening across the lower Mississippi Valley, Deep South and Southeast.
