Weekend severe threat across Plains

A large low-pressure trough will ignite severe storms across the belly of the U.S. for this first weekend of November.

Scattered stormy weather will be booming across the southern Plains Saturday morning but an intense cluster of severe storms is possible by the afternoon hours, especially in west Texas, including places like Midland and Odessa. The WeatherRadar shows heavy rain and storms through the overnight hours across the southern Plains before things spread slightly north and east, creating Sunday's severe weather threat.

To close out the weekend, scattered severe storms are possible from Abilene, Texas, northward to south-central Nebraska all day on Sunday.

Additionally, heavy Sunday rainfall could result in flash flooding, especially in eastern Oklahoma to southwestern Missouri.
