TX, Oklahoma, Louisiana
New week, new tornado threat

After an active Sunday across the southern Plains, a renewed severe weather threat will keep Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana residents on their toes. Severe storms have been sweeping Texas and Oklahoma all morning.

The WeatherRadar shows a line of gusty, heavy rain this morning across the southern Plains. The same low-pressure system that prompted 14 severe weather reports, with 6 tornado reports in southwestern Oklahoma, on Sunday and Sunday night is shifting north and east.

Isolated severe storms could extend as far north as Iowa but the more scattered severe weather will show up along Interstate 35 from Oklahoma City and Perry, Okla., to Waco, Texas. This severe weather threat is already active. Our app shows thunderstorm alerts for the Dallas Metro area as the cold front poses a severe threat.

Junction City, Ark., to Shreveport and south to the Louisiana Gulf Coast can expect to see storms on the WeatherRadar starting late this afternoon at the start of the commute. The active, stormy weather line will continue into the evening and early overnight hours bringing a tornado threat with it.

Afternoon commuters and late-night travelers must mind the WeatherRadar as heavy rainfall accompanies these storms. Don't be surprised to see 2 to 3 inches create flash flooding problems. Be prepared with the handy app alerts.
