Reporting from the field
Typhoon Mawar in the Philippines

Typhoon Mawar, known locally as Super Typhoon Betty, is spiraling away in the Philippines' northern islands. Our meteorologist Tamsin Green is in the country with an update.

Last week, Mawar slammed the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam with ferocious winds and a storm surge up to 10 feet as it intensified to the equivalent of a Category 5 hurricane. It then took a northward track while traveling toward the Philippines.
