Up to a foot of snow
Late-season winter storm for the Rockies

A late-season winter storm will bring snow to the Rockies today and tomorrow.

It will feel more like February than May today and tomorrow across parts of the Rockies. The WeatherRadar shows a potent winter storm impacting parts of Colorado and Wyoming today and tomorrow.

Cities like Denver and Boulder, Colo., will see rain transition to a rain–snow mix, then to all snow by late this afternoon into the evening. Light accumulation is expected, with up to about an inch possible on grassy and elevated surfaces before sunset.

Rain will turn to snow across this afternoon and evening.

Higher elevations in Colorado could see widespread snowfall up to a foot across the northern and central mountains, including well-known destinations like Breckenridge and Rocky Mountain National Park.

The WindRadar shows gusts reaching up to 45 mph. Combined with falling snow, this could create whiteout conditions, making travel over mountain passes hazardous.
