Video: Moose in the snow

A moose was seen braving a snowstorm in Grand Teton National Park in western Wyoming last week. More snow is on the way for the Rockies.

A moose was spotted in the snow in Grand Teton National Park after 19 inches fell last week. The WeatherRadar shows more snow in the forecast. A low-pressure system will produce a swath of snow and strong winds from northern Idaho to western Iowa today.

Up to a foot of snow in the highest elevations.

We could see 6-12 inches of snow accumulation over the northern Rockies, with isolated higher amounts possible. The WindRadar shows gusts over 30 mph across eastern Colorado and New Mexico.

Some higher elevations could see gusts up to 70 mph. Snow and wind should subside across the Northwest tonight as the low-pressure system tracks into the Ohio Valley.

Holiday travelers should exercise caution when using mountain passes. High winds may also cause air and road delays near Denver. Make sure your app alerts are turned on, and check conditions on WeatherRadar before heading out.
