March 26, 2025

Breakfast brief
Stormy PNW, above-average for most

Showers and storms are forecast for the Pacific Northwest and south Texas later today. Above-average warmth continues for much of the country, while snow and chilly temperatures linger in the Great Lakes and Northeast. The Breakfast Brief is published daily, Monday through Friday, at 5:00 a.m. Eastern time.

The WeatherRadar shows showers and storms in the Pacific Northwest. A narrow corridor west of the Cascades, stretching from Eugene, Ore., to Seattle, could see damaging winds, hail, and the threat of an isolated tornado.

Severe storms possible west of the Cascades this afternoon and evening.

Thunderstorms are also forecast in south Texas, where damaging wind and hail are possible threats, as is localized flooding in cities like San Antonio and Corpus Christi.

Mixed rain and snow will continue to impact the eastern Great Lakes and Interior Northeast. Most of the U.S. will see above-average temperatures, with just the Great Lakes and Northeast seeing cooler-than-average temperatures.
