Extremely hot for SoCal; cooler East

It's a total flip-flop in the weather conditions across the United States. While record hot temperatures will continue across Southern California, with highs between 15 to 20 degrees above normal (and slower winds, at least), the eastern half will be much cooler with some snow and rain across parts of the Appalachians and Northeast.
