Rain through the weekend
Winds change! Unsettled California

California and the West Coast will see a couple of weather systems that will bring unsettled weather throughout the weekend. First up is Southern California!

A relatively small storm is approaching Southern California late Friday night. Overnight, the storm will increase the clouds, and rain coverage will increase. This will not bring widespread showers, but it is a change from the conditions we have experienced throughout much of this past week. Overall, through Sunday morning, precipitation will be less than a quarter of an inch.

The WeatherRadar shows the spin on the storm impacting Southern California on Friday night, and this one will affect the West Coast on Sunday.

Another system will arrive late Sunday, first impacting the northern half of the West Coast, producing heavy rains and mountain snow Sunday through the start of the week. The extensive low-pressure system will have a large front reaching Southern California on Sunday night, pushing lots of moisture inland. This is where there will be more prolific showers, and there could be a few spots with minor flooding.

As the next system approaches, Sunday night will see increased winds across much of the West Coast. Seas will be extremely rough. The winds will be strong across the Sierra through the south, with gusts reaching up to 60 mph. Strong gusts will also affect Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon, with up to 50 mph, and these strong winds will move to the Four Corners on Monday.

Between Sunday night and Monday, there could be around 3/4 of an inch of rain across Southern California, with some spots that could receive nearly one inch. There will be a small break from the copious precipitation, but still with a few very scattered showers on Monday. Stay aware because starting Tuesday night, another storm will be approaching Southern California.
