Pattern shifts after weeks of record heat

The Southern Plains have been hot and dry for weeks, with high and low temperatures breaking records almost daily. A pattern shift is on the way, bringing relief to many, especially in Oklahoma, but we have to wait just a few more days.

We're eyeing a cold front on the WeatherRadar that is forecast to move through the central U.S. by the end of the weekend. The TemperatureRadar shows warm highs for places like Clinton, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla., on Sunday, but let's scroll down to the daily forecast section.

Temperatures are forecast to take a sudden drop between Sunday and Monday thanks to a rain-inducing cold front, a double-positive since it's been so dry too.
