More rounds of severe weather

It's been an active week for severe weather, and the atmosphere isn't slowing down. More severe storms are anticipated today, Friday and into the weekend.

The WeatherRadar shows the chance of storms stretching from Texas to Vermont this afternoon and evening. The main threat will be in parts of the interior Northeast, from western and central New York State to Vermont, and across the northern half of Arkansas. Damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes are possible.

Cities such as Little Rock, as well as Buffalo, Rochester and Albany, N.Y., should be on alert for strong storms later today. Now is a good time to make sure your Weather & Radar app alerts are turned on.

The WeatherRadar shows a more potent severe threat developing on Friday, stretching from the southern Plains to the upper Mississippi Valley. Damaging winds, large hail and strong tornadoes are possible across a swath that stretches from just north of Oklahoma City through Kansas City, and into La Crosse, Wis.

The threat of severe storms also extends into the weekend. Strong to severe isolated thunderstorms, capable of producing damaging winds and hail, are possible Saturday across portions of the Ohio Valley.
