Tips to survive the chaos
Thanksgiving week begins

Watching two systems

Thanksgiving week has begun, and let the travel chaos begin. Whether driving, flying or taking a train, don't let the weather impact your travel plans.

Current weather forecasts have several systems bringing possible trouble. One system is moving across the Northwest tonight and Monday before slipping across the Rockies and into the Plains Tuesday and Wednesday. This will interact with another system rolling out of the Southwest.

This one-two combo will bring the threat of heavy rain to the Plains on Tuesday, including a chance for thunderstorms across the lower Mississippi Valley into the Southeast. Snow and even blizzard conditions are possible in the Dakotas.

Use the WeatherRadar to watch these systems roll across the U.S. and their impacts on travel in Dallas, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit and Nashville.

Later this week, a burst of cold air accompanying the big Tuesday system will dive out of Canada. This will bring very cold temperatures into the northern Plains first, before spreading across the Midwest, Great Lakes and Northeast. The TemperatureRadar shows the cold airmass expanding as the week continues.
